Cornwall Museum & Art Gallery

How do you develop an identity and website for an institution with over two centuries of history, a collection of more than one million objects, and an audience spanning from early childhood to older adults, from academics to community groups? The Cornwall Museum and Art Gallery is home to an extraordinary collection of treasures, artefacts, artworks, and photography, serves as a vital resource for understanding Cornwall — its language, identity, and cultural heritage. Operated by the Royal Institution of Cornwall, a charity founded in 1818, the museum has long championed excellence in science, art, and the world-leading industries that defined Cornwall’s legacy. Seeking to secure the museum for the future, the museum embarked on a transformation to repair the building, reshape the visitor experience and draw in higher numbers of visitors. We took on a brief to develop a new brand identity and website that would enable the organisation to increase visibility, expand its relevance to wider audiences and build visitor numbers.  The site features Museum Exhibitions, Community Events, Permanent Collections, Learning Programme, a history of its existence, development and current transformation. Designed and developed as a fully bespoke site with a Wordpress as its base.
