Who gets to vote?

The competition recognizes two types of votes: Jury votes and Community votes. While the Jury determines the main awards, voting is open to everyone in the digital design community.

Community voting plays a particularly important role in the Site of the Year – Users’ Choice Award, where the winner is determined entirely by the votes of the community.

How are the nominees in each category picked out?

Site of the Year: All submitted sites are ranked by their overall score from highest to lowest. The top 30 sites are selected as nominees. Sites that have won “Site of the Month” are automatically included, regardless of their score.

Developer Site of the Year: Nominees are chosen using the same process as “Site of the Year,” but only the code score is considered. The top 30 sites are selected.

E-commerce of the Year: Sites in the E-commerce category are ranked by score, with the top 30 selected as nominees. Each is reviewed to ensure it qualifies as a true E-commerce platform, requiring a shopping cart and payment gateway, or clear pre-order instructions. Product showcases or experiential platforms are excluded.

Agency of the Year: Data such as submissions, Sites of the Day (SOTDs), Honorable Mentions, etc. are analyzed for all contenders. Agencies are ranked by the number of awards, giving SOTDs the highest priority. The top 30 agencies are selected as nominees. An agency is defined as having more than 15 employees.

Studio of the Year: Studios are ranked in the same way as Agencies but are defined as having 15 or fewer employees.

Independent of the Year: An “Independent” is defined as someone who is not a member of an agency or studio, even if they frequently collaborate with one. Nominees are selected using the same criteria as for Agencies and Studios.
